It’s time to celebrate the end of the academic year! Join us for De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s first EVER Summer Ball, sponsored by Sulets, this May.

The event, being held at Leicester’s King Power Stadium on the evening of Friday 25 May, promises to be a night to remember as we celebrate all that you’ve achieved at De Montfort University (DMU) in 2017/18.

Ahtesham Mahmood, President of DSU, said: “I am incredibly excited for the Summer Ball because it’s that time of year where we get to dress up in our fancy clothes, feel a little bit special, and have a fantastic night where we celebrate your achievements.

“And there’s no better place to do it than at the King Power Stadium, who have been such great hosts to us for the past two years and will help make the night truly unforgettable.

“For me it’s going to be truly special – having got to know a lot of you over my two years as a member of the Officer Team – to see you recognise your achievements throughout the year.”

Tickets are just £29 per person (available here) and include;

  • drink on arrival;
  • four-course dinner;
  • entertainment;
  • awards presentation;
  • FREE taxi service from the King Power Stadium back to DSU (courtesy of ADT Taxis);
  • and entry to the official after party at DSU.

What’s more, buy a table of 12 and you can name the table! Perfect for societies, sports clubs or big groups of friends.

The event is open to DMU students of all years (a plus one non-DMU student is also welcome, but you will need to buy a ticket on their behalf).

There is only a super limited amount of tickets on offer, so grab yours from the page here now to avoid disappointment.

Purchase a table of 12 for your student group or a bunch of your friends, and you’?ll have the opportunity to name the table!

Our Summer Ball will also play host to an awards presentation to recognise some of the individuals, sports clubs and societies who have made the year extra special.

Nominations close on Monday 7 May at 5pm. You can find out more, and nominate yourself or someone brilliant, here. The 12 awards will include;

  • Most Improved Student Group;
  • Campaign of the Year;
  • Volunteer of the Year;

Ahtesham continued: “Not only will the Summer Ball be a great night to celebrate all of your memories, but also your efforts from throughout the year as well.

“We’re going to be recognising the success of those student leaders who go the extra mile to make your course or student group even better by putting in the effort alongside everything else. We’re looking for some truly phenomenal accomplishments.

“So, make sure you’re ready to scream the house down when they walk across that stage to collect their award!”
