Your De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) President this year is Dan Winney.
It’s his job to represent and support you throughout the next 12 months.
Our award-winning union is an organisation which dedicates it’s time to provide you with opportunities to have fun, engage in a variety of challenges, but also support you during your time here at De Montfort University (DMU).
Dan’s job as President alongside the other four full-time executive officers and six part-time officers is to lead your union, make your voice heard and help make your university the best it possibly can be.
It’s exciting times at the moment for DSU. We have just launched our new brand and our home is undergoing a lot of change over the next six months – meaning in January 2017 we’ll be opening our new £3million home – but in the meantime, we’re in The Art Factory, so come and say hi!
And Dan’s words of advice?
Make sure you get involved. The students’ union is more than just a bar and it’s where all the fun stuff happens; make sure you join a sports team and/or a society – that’s where you will make your friends for life and the opportunities that will come from it our endless.
In Dan's manifesto he promised to work on these key areas:
DSU rebrand, revamp and relocations
Staff structure of DSU as an organisation
Quality of facilities for sports teams and societies
Transparency and accountability of DSU
