Nominations for Course Rep Elections at De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) are now officially...OPEN! This is your chance to represent the academic interests of your fellow De Montfort University (DMU) students. 

Every course at De Montfort University (DMU) can have a Course Rep. These are students picked by their class mates via an online election, and are trained to help you with any academic issues you might face during your time at university.

Course Reps are the vital link between students and their lecturers and are responsible for letting academics know about the key issues that students face. They are a massively important part of the system we use to represent students’ academic interests at DMU and are here help with any academic issues you might face; from deadline extentions to much bigger issues.

If you are interested in having your say in academic issues, now is your time to nominate yourself!

Nominations for the Course Rep Elections close on Monday 22nd October at 11:59pm.


Mollie was a Course Rep in her second year at DMU. 

Mollie Footitt, now DP Education at DSU, was a Course Rep in her second year as a Psychology student at DMU. She said: “This is really a chance to represent your class mates and make sure the student voice is being heard.

“But if you don’t nominate yourself – people can’t vote for you!

“Course Reps attend meetings throughout the year and should be the first port of call for any academic issues. They act as the bridge between students and lecturers.

“I really gained confidence during my time as a Course Rep in my second year at DMU, and it’s part of the reason why I am where I am today. It is just a fantastic opportunity.”

Nominations for Course Rep Elections close on Monday 22nd October, with voting taking place online between 10am on Monday 29th October and 11:59pm on Thursday 1st November.
