Nominations for De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s Elections are now…OPEN! This is your chance to choose the De Montfort University (DMU) students to #PowerYourUnion.

There’s the chance for you to nominate yourself (or recommend someone brilliant) to each of the five full-time executive roles, or six part-time liberation representatives. Each has an area of focus and work together to make DMU the best place it can be for us all – and to represent your academic interests.

You’ll also have the opportunity to put yourself forward for the role of Course Rep.

Nominations for the #PowerYourUnion Elections close on Sunday 25 February at 11:59pm.

Ahtesham Mahmood, President of DSU and formerly VP Student Activities at DSU, has stood for election four times.

He said: “As a student’s union, we hold being student-run and student-led close to our hearts, and the #PowerYourUnion Elections are the perfect opportunity for you to lead the strategic direction of DSU in the next academic year.

“I want to see really ambitious ideas, and for candidates to push the boundaries of the students’ union. We’re an engine of change, and this opportunity allows you to be the driver.

“We’ve got real quality behind all of our representation at DSU, and that comes from being as diverse as possible and bringing ideas from as many students at DMU as we can.

“If you’re thinking of running and have any questions, drop me a message on Twitter @DSU_Pres.”
