De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s Union Development Executive, Kate Askew, has resigned from her post with immediate effect.

Kate has decided to step down from her role to pursue other interests and goals.

Over the past six months Kate introduced a part-time job fair as part of the Uni2Know campaign. The job fair empowered students to know their rights as part-time employees and help students find jobs that work around their studies.

Kate also recently worked with DSU’s Academic Executive, Laura Flowers, to host a range of Womxn in STEM events to inspire women to engage with STEM subjects.

From working on Zones to supporting student groups with the Golden Ticket Fund, Kate has worked with students and staff to help represent and involve all our 26,000 members.

The DSU team will ensure that union development will remain a constant priority.

DSU would like to take this opportunity to thank Kate for all her hard work over the past 6 months and wishes her all the best for the future.
