Keira Rounsley

Keira is the Vice President Welfare and Community at De Montfort Students' Union and a member of the Trustee board.

Keira is in her second year of office as VP Welfare and Community and Trustee of DSU and a DMU Ba Arts and Festivals Management and Drama graduate.

Whilst at university she was heavily involved in DMU Netball which made her fall in love with the students’ union.  This is why she why I ran for her position. She wanted to give back to something that had given her so much, and one of the main reasons why she stayed at university after a rocky start in first year. Keira wants to make sure students know and understand that the union is there for them also.

Keira loves playing sport, and cofesses to being "a huge drama geek at heart!" Going to the theatre is one of her favourite things to do.

Why did Keira want to become a Trustee?
"
Before I became a trustee I didn’t really understand the impact it could have on an organisation, but it allows us to look at the organisation more strategically and make a difference."

What does she want to achieve as a Trustee?
"
As a trustee I want to see the organisation thrive and deliver the best student experience we can, whether that’s from giving great advice to students around housing, visas, finances, to having an ever growing student voice team to allow us to represent students views to the best of our ability, to supporting our societies and sports teams to grow and become great leaders, and delivering great trips/events for our students to get involved with."
