WHO ARE WE?:
In 2014, a group of Psychology freshers decided to form the society as there was no society that was specifically for students taking Psychology and Psychology with programmes. With lots of enthusiasm, drive and determination, they enlisted help from their peers and lecturers to get the society up and running. This took lots of research, emails and meetings and we were finally unveiled at the refreshers fair where we had a fantastic number of sign-ups for membership! Since then we have gone from strength to strength, upping momentum with a fabulous and very approachable committee who have a passion for all things psychology.
OUR AIMS FOR 2017/18:
We aim to be a place where you can find academic support (especially for those who are studying Psychology and the Psychology with programmes) with revision groups at exam time and general Q&A sessions. We also have access to a wealth of volunteering opportunities and there will be events on volunteering opportunities throughout the year. We are also here to give advice on academic subjects and point you in the right direction of any help if needed.
BUT, we also aim to be more than just an academic based society, as we believe the whole uni experience is a good mixture of study and the all important social aspect. Socially, we plan to have meals out and the all important nights out too!! So there will be plenty of opportunities to make new friends and make the most of university life! These are just a few highlights of our plans for the upcoming year and we would love for you to join us. We have an icebreaker social planned for the week after freshers which will be a relaxed fun night and are also planning on doing a Random Act of Kindness event on campus!
