Nominations for De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s Course Rep Elections are now…OPEN! This is your chance to choose the De Montfort University (DMU) students to #PowerYourUnion and represent your academic interests in 2018/19.

If your course hasn’t yet chosen a Course Rep for next year, there’s the chance to nominate yourself for the position.

Course Reps are the vital link between students and their lecturers and are responsible for letting academics know about the key issues that students face. You’d also be a massively important part of the system we use to represent students’ academic interests at DMU.

Nominations for the Course Rep Elections close on Monday 23 April at 11:59pm.

Mollie represented her Psychology course mates as a Course Rep before taking on the role of DP Education at DSU.

Mollie Footitt, DP Education at DSU, was a Course Rep during her time as a student at DMU.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without that position,” she said. “We’ll also train you up and support you throughout, and make sure that any volunteering hours you do are included in your HEAR Report so that you can shout about the great work that you’ve done.”

Successful Course Reps will be offered training by DSU to equip you with the key skills throughout the next 12 months.

Mollie continued: “If you missed out last time, or if your course doesn’t have a Course Rep yet, make sure you nominate yourself now!

“All you need to do is go to demontfortsu.com/vote and nominate yourself by 11:59pm on Monday 23 April.”
