Your Union Development Executive, Joanna Dine-Hart, is leading a campaign to improve period poverty for students at De Montfort University (DMU) this academic year. She is working alongside DMU and Hey Girls UK to bring free period products to toilets across campus with the aim to improve student welfare. 

 

With aims to provide free sanitary products in both male and female toilets as well as work with student advocates to educate younger students across Leicester, this campaign is essential to raising awareness of the menstrual cycle and period poverty including why it needs addressing. 

 

Whether you menstruate or not, we want to hear your knowledge and experiences on periods. Please take the time to fill out Joanna's survey as it will help shape the direction of this campaign. You can complete the survey here.

 

We are delighted to announce that DMU has agreed to include free sanitary products in 95 toilets across campus and are currently in discussions with Joanna regarding furthering their efforts. At present, you can find free products in the following areas:
