*UPDATE: Milly Lane's is open NOW! Pop down to the ground floor of the Campus Centre and enjoy the place to eat at DMU!*
De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) is pleased to unveil the freshest addition to #YourNewDSU…Milly Lane’s; the place to eat on the De Montfort University (DMU) campus.
Milly Lane’s (in the Campus Centre…on Mill Lane…geddit) is our brand new place to eat, drink, and chat at DMU. Situated in the centre of the ground floor of the newly transformed Campus Centre, it’s sure to be your new favourite place to meet and chill out on campus.
And with a menu made up of fresh ingredients with locally-sourced fruit, vegetables and meat, we’ve tried to make sure that there’s something on offer for everyone at affordable prices.
We’ll be holding a number of sampling sessions throughout January for you to come and taste our new menu and find out what Milly’s is all about, before our Grand Opening of #YourNewDSU on Wednesday 25 January.
But the best bit? Every single penny we make is reinvested back into your students’ union and the services that you love!
That means every time you buy a burger, salad, coffee, smoothie or anything else from the Milly Lane’s menu, your money goes towards representing you, societies, sports clubs, volunteering and the Advice centre as well as all of the other amazing things your union does for you.
The Milly Lane's menu is made from fresh and locally-sourced fruit, vegetables and meat – with something for every taste.
Dan Winney, President of DSU, said: “I’m really excited to see DSU’s fresh new place to eat and drink taking shape and almost ready to open to students.
“Milly Lane’s will be the place to eat on campus, and we’ve listened to you to make sure that there’s something on offer for everyone.”
We’re also dedicated to friendly, professional customer service as well as opening up opportunities to our members – which means student staff will be on hand as both waiting staff and in the kitchen.
And as well as friendly faces, we’re making sure that we’re friendly to the community too. Milly Lane’s only serves Fairtrade coffee plus free-range eggs, and we’ve made sure that there’s plenty of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan choice too.
We also listened to what you wanted from #YourNewDSU, so alongside Milly Lane’s you’ll find a new Heat and Eat station where you can microwave food made at home in the first area of its kind on the DMU campus.
Dan continued: “It’s also great to see our Heat and Eat area open to students, which is something that has been asked for for a long time; and it’s great to finally roll this out!”
Oh, and if all that isn’t enough we’ve got Sky TVs too. Phew.
Every time you buy a burger, salad, coffee, smoothie or anything else from the Milly Lane’s menu, your money goes towards all of the amazing things your students' union does for you.
