We are super excited to announce that Bugzy Malone plus Tom Zanetti and K.O Kane will be headlining two of the biggest events at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s #FreshFest17.
The man they call the ‘King of the North’, Manchester-born wordsmith Bugzy Malone is fast developing a reputation as one of the UK’s brightest independent talents, who has numerous awards including ‘Best Newcomer’ at the GRM Daily Rated Awards and nominated for countless others including ‘Best Grime Act’ and ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Mobo Awards.
He’ll be headlining the #FreshFest17 Opening Party at the O2 Academy on Saturday 23 September.
But that’s not all.
DJ and producer duo Tom Zanetti and K.O Kane – best known for their track ‘Twisted’, as well as Zanetti’s collaboration with British R&B singer Sadie Ama on hit single ‘You Want Me’ – will be headlining the #FreshFest17 Freshers Ball at the Athena on Sunday 24 September.
Ahtesham Mahmood, President of DSU, said: “#FreshFest17 is undoubtedly one of the biggest highlights of the year. I still remember my Freshers Week from six years ago, and it was probably one of the best weeks I’ve had at DMU.
“Our headline events are just the icing on the cake. Having well-established artists like Bugzy Malone featuring at #FreshFest17 is unbelievable.
“To know that he is headlining on our stage, and to know that every Freshers Week is getting bigger and better every year, is amazing.”
Other events during #FreshFest17 include InJUNCTION’s Opening Night, films on the Big Screen, freebies galore at Freshers Fair, ColourFest and trips to Harry Potter Studios and Twycross Zoo!
