This is a fantastic opportunity to work with highly engaged students and staff and continue to develop the department to ensure that the student voice is integral to what both DSU and De Montfort University (DMU) do. This role is responsible for course representation but also collectively identifying mechanisms that increase student engagement across a number of internal and external initiatives. You will also be an Election Official, supporting the election processes and identifying new ways for us to reach out to both candidates and voters. You will work closely with the Executive Officers and help them achieve their manifesto aims, acting as a mentor and motivator to facilitate student Voice across the university community.
Higher Education policy and streamlining information is also part of this role and the team which sits within the Voice department at DSU, understanding the importance of this in the local setting within the charity and how it affects our students is essential.
The role will involve liaising with numerous University departments, including but not limited to the Pro Vice Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, PVC/Deans, the Department of Academic Quality and Programme Leaders. DSU encourages formations of key relationships and the person in this role will enjoy the benefits of that.
We welcome applications from those aspiring to become managers or those currently within management positions and wanting a new challenge; what is essential is a positive attitude and a willingness to challenge the department and the organisation to be the best it can be.
We strongly value equality and diversity; we are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
We are so looking forward to your application and encourage an informal discussion regarding the role for anyone who may like to get more of feel for it. Please contact Elgan Hughes, Head of Membership Services, on Elgan.Hughes@dmu.ac.uk to set up a time.
