We’re inviting YOU to join us at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s first EVER leadership and empowerment conference created by and for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic students.
The BME in Leadership Event, open to all students at De Montfort University (DMU) on Wednesday 25 January between 1pm and 5pm, aims to tear down the barriers that Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) students can face when it comes to taking on a leadership role, and is completely FREE to attend.
Augustus Mbanasor, DP Education at DSU, said: “Some students see leadership as something that is hard to reach, or that you have to be a CEO/Executive/Manager of a well-respected company to be viewed as a leader.
“It is important that we remove the stigmas and stereotypes of what leaders look like and what they should be and work to make the view and perception of leadership inclusive for everyone, including our BME students."
