Start your own club, society or volunteering group!

If you would like to get involved by starting your own student group, then complete the form below and a member of the Activities team will be in touch to help you get your group up and running. You will want to consider if an existing group exists already so check out our societies, sports clubs, and student volunteering projects, you may also want to consider if your idea is unique or if it will be a benefit to students at De Montfort University.

Before you start, here are a few things to consider: 

If you decide to start your own Student Group, the Activities will support you with:

  • One-to-one development sessions

  • Room bookings

  • Self-funding account

  • Access to DSU student group training;

  • Webpage

  • Membership support

  • Stall at Activities Fair

To run a student group you will need a dedicated team, the roles you'll need at the start are: 

  • Chairperson

  • Health and Safety Officer

  • Treasurer

  • Secretary
