Zones Fact Sheet – Commitment and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

As a Zone Rep:

  • You are responsible for engaging in discussions and campaigns to promote the activities of your Zone and the Union.
     
  • You are also required to scrutinise your Executive Officer, support them and work closely with them for the development of the Union.
     
  • You will be required to contribute to and help develop policies for the Union to be more effective in improving students’ experience.
     
  • You will also be required to propose initiatives in order to help the Union represent students better.
     
  • You will be required to advise the Student Council on issues relating to your Zone in order to make the Union effective.
  • You will hold your post from this election to the next Zones election.

Time Commitments:

As a Zone Rep:

  • You will be required to attend a minimum of four Student Council meetings per academic year.
     
  • You will also be required to attend a Zone meeting two weeks before a Student Council meeting – additional meetings may be called by the Chair of the Zone as per need.

Please note: 

An individual can only sit on one zone regardless of how many societies or clubs they belong to. However, a society or club can be represented across all zones through different people running within different zones.
