Representing your academic interests
Being a Course Rep not only helps to drive change on your course, it can also develop you as an individual giving you skills you can use as you embark on your career after graduation. DSU will provide training and guidance throughout your time as a rep and we are on hand to talk through any issues you may have, just email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Course Rep training
Training is the first step in how you can learn to be a champion for your course. It covers the basics of being a Course Rep, including but not limited to:
- how to interact with your course mates to gain opinions and data;
- how to raise concerns and feedback to your programme team and/or Faculty;
- communication skills;
- University structures, staffing and policies.
We will run training events for all Course Reps and it is really important you engage with these so that you gain the skills needed to create effective change for you and all your fellow students.
This page covers the sessions taught at Course Rep Training, plus additional materials, so if you ever need a refresher you can come back here. You can also check out some of the material prior to the training course but please do ensure you come along to get the best possible start to your time as a Course Rep.
