DMURC is one of the biggest and most inclusive sports in the whole University, boasting more than 100 active members. The whole club gets together on Thursday evenings for circuits, as well as runs and bike rides throughout the week and of course the massive Wednesday night socials which are always messy!
The club has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, and the forthcoming year is looking to be our best yet! After smashing Leicester Uni at Varsity over the last few years we have been rewarded with substantial funding, including our new boat house as well as being the only team to receive our own full time paid coach.
Don't worry if you've never rowed before! Our Novice squads are made up entirely of beginner rowers; we teach you quickly and get you racing within your first few weeks if that's what you want, but if not rowing is an absolutely fantastic way to lose weight and get fit!
If you're interested check out some of the links below! Don't hesitate to contact on the email address a bit further down if you have any questions at all!

There are two seasons in the rowing year: Winter Head Races & Summer Regattas. Training varies slightly between the 2 seasons, with September-March aimed at improving base fitness and endurance, whereas the shorter, regatta distance training from march to June is aimed more at anaerobic fitness. Squads spend most of their time training within their crews, however we have lots of integration as well!
Wednesday nights are when we hold our socials, you're guaranteed to have come of the best and memorable (or not...) nights of your life with DMURC! We have four huge socials over the year including: T-shirt Run, Christmas Dinner, Varsity and The Annual Ball - all of which are not to be missed!
