Whether you're new to the sport or an experienced fencer, Demon Fencing welcomes all students to join our team and train with our local coach, Chris Beadling. The club was set up in 2011 by a former student who wished to challenge Leicester University, and has since grown dramatically.
In Fencing, there are 3 weapons you can choose from; foil, epee and sabre, and each require a different style of fighting. Fencing is a bit like physical chess; it combines your physical ability with tactical skills as you're always trying to think one step ahead of your opponent. The team competes in national competitions, including the popular and highly anticipated varsity against the University of Leicester every year.

The club is made up of a mix of students studying various degrees. It's a great society to join if you want to make new friends, have a laugh and keep fit.
Fencing will not only improve your general fitness, but will also develop your endurance, coordination, agility and tactful thinking.
