Hello! Welcome to the DMU Criminology society page...


This society is for ANYONE with an interest in criminology, law, social science, and the criminal justice system.

We are here to make your university experience fun and informative! We plan to do this by doing socials and other fun activites, educational opportunities and support.

Keep a look out for various posters and flyers advertising the society and for all the events we have planned. You can also follow us on our social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat) to keep regulary updated with the happenings of DMU criminology society!

With our £2 joining fee, you can gain access to our finest...


Socials, on socials on socials! The Criminology Society plan on doing monthly wet (drinking) and dry (non drinking) socials as well as day socials as well as nights out for those that have to commute, mature students or just members that don't wish to attend the night socials! 

There are also plans in the works for exciting things like themed socials! All in all, a good time! 

 The Criminology commitee/ Social Chair will keep you updated on facebook with all the details so keep your eye out! We hope to celebrate events like:

  • Halloween
  • Christmas
  • Valentines day
  • Easter


As well as the socials we plan to put on monthly, we also want to plan other activities like: 

  • Days out
  • Nights out 
  • Trips 
  • Peer mentoring/Academic Help (More details below) 

Academic Help

When it comes to assignment and exam time, we will arrange sessions where you can come along and ask any questions you may have.

Have a look at our Peer Mentoring scheme where you can recieve 1 to 1 help and support, whether it is academic support or a friendly face to talk to.

Peer Mentoring

Some members of the committee have had training on how to professionally mentor and support other students.

If you are a new student at DMU we can offer advice for moving away from home, budgeting issues and organisational skills. We are also here to support your academic needs as much as we can.
