DMU Hackers

A cyber security society run by De Montfort University students.

If you're interested in joining us then you'll want to know what we do as a society.

As a society we take part in many competitions such as capture the flag challenges and face-to-face events online and all over the country. We do this as individuals and as teams. It's the perfect way to improve your experience and knowledge.

Weekly Meetups

We come together on a weekly basis to practice penetration testing techniques. It's a great chance to get practical experience in hacking as we demonstrate how to perform exploitations in different areas such as web hacking, wifi hacking, binary exploitation, reverse engineering, etc..

If you're interested in a career in cyber security then there is no better way than to get to know like-minded people. As we take part in different competitions and events not only will you gain valuable experience, but you'll also get to network and leave a lasting impression on some of the big players in the industry.

Here are the resources that we possess and share with you to teach you as much as we can about cyber security.

We have our very own Dual Xeon, 24GB memory server to play with. This allows us to host vulnerable virtual machines and capture the flag challenges to let you loose on.

The Cyber Security Center at De Montfort kindly trust us to use one of their labs to host DMU Hackers every week. They're keen for us to get people in involved to learn.

It's important to be surrounded by people that have the same interests as you if you want to succeed. It gives you a chance to share ideas and learn - that's what we offer at DMU Hackers.

We organise visits from industry experts to come and give talks to the society; a great way to learn from people with real experience and network with them too.

DMU Hackers takes place every Thursday at 6pm.
It's usually hosted in Gateway House 5.63.
Any changes to this schedule can be found on our social media so make sure you follow us!
