Your Student Leaders

Student Voice Leaders

Who are they and what do they do?

Our Student Voice Leaders are elected, full-time student representatives who lead the Students’ Union. As sabbatical officers, they represent your views, champion your rights, and make sure your voice is heard at every level of the University and beyond.

They work closely with other voluntary elected student leaders, including Liberation Officers, Faculty Leads, and Course Reps to build a strong, united student voice. As role models within the Union, Student Voice Leaders are accountable to you through Student Council and a Scrutiny Panel, ensuring they always act in the best interests of students.

You can contact them on studentvoiceleaders@dmu.ac.uk.

Inclusion & Wellbeing

Dilpreet Kaur

Hi I am your student voice leader for inclusion and well-being and my name is Dilpreet Kaur. My role involves making the university experience inclusive and supportive. That's why my manifesto focuses on cost of living and student dignity by providing free food to students during assessment week.

Secondly safety remains the main concern for students so I'll be doing monthly safety campaigns and celebrating diversity through history month. Lastly having open spaces for underrepresented students where they can be heard.
