De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) sports club membership holders can now make the most of discounted gym memberships at De Montfort University (DMU)’s Queen Elizabeth II Leisure Centre.
The initiative, which is immediately in place, will see gold gym memberships sold at just £113 – a £40 discount – for the academic year and hopes to see more people engaged in sport and taking up an active and healthy lifestyle.
The discount can also be used on 12-month memberships to reduce the cost from £175 to £135.
Ahtesham Mahmood, VP Student Activities at DSU, said: "I am really pleased that our sports clubs are being rewarded for their hard work with this added benefit that will not only improve the number of people keeping active but will have an impact on our overall sporting performance.
"It's just another addition to the long list of reasons to join a sports club through the students' union and is further proof that sport is heavily on the agenda at DMU.
"Being part of a student group completely changes your university life as you meet so many new people from all walks of life from all over the world. Having this added benefit really puts a smile on my face."
Sports club memberships cost £40 as a one-off payment and lets you join as many sports clubs as you’d like for the academic year.
It allows you to represent your club in BUCS fixtures, gives you insurance and covers travel to and from fixtures. £10 also goes back into your primary club’s individual self-funding account.
You can buy your sports club membership today from each club’s individual page. Find out more here.
