The Zen Zone is an on-campus break-away point where you can escape the hustle and bustle of university life. Located in the heart of the ground floor of the Campus Centre, behind The Union, our Advice and Wellbeing team have devised weekly sessions along with Healthy DMU that will take place here to better your wellbeing. 

Launching on Monday 4 October, the Zen Zone will host weekly drop-in sessions with The Mandala Project, the De Montfort University (DMU) Faith Advisors, Healthy DMU and the De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) Advice and Wellbeing Team throughout the month. View the sessions available below:

 

Monday

Speak to your Faith Advisors: Drop-In Session | 2pm - 3pm

Are you happy? Or are you struggling with life, the universe and everything else? Do you need any  support with your faith or on your spiritual journey? Whether you have a problem big or small or simply could do with a chat: DMU's Chaplains and Faith Advisors are available for confidential drop in sessions.

 

Tuesday

Mindfulness Sessions | 9:30am - 10am

Learning to focus on the here and now can help to improve concentration and regular mindful practice can boost our feelings of wellbeing, helping to manage the distractions in our day to day life.

Speak to the Mandala team: Drop-In Sessions | 2pm - 4pm

If you feel that you’re in an unhealthy relationship or still feel affected by something that happened in a relationship a while ago, this session may be useful for you. Mandala can support if you have experienced

  • Sexual violence, including rape and sexual assault 
  • Domestic abuse including so-called ‘honour crime’, forced marriage and coercive control 
  • Sexual harassment including stalking, unwanted contact, abusive language and behaviours on campus which create an intimidating environment

Please do not wait for the DSU drop in to access urgent support. If you are in an emergency situation and need support call 999 now.

 

Wednesday
