We’re super excited to announce that Yungen, plus Joel Corry and Its Danny T will be headlining two of the biggest events at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s Freshers this year.

The South-London raised rapper, Yungen has fast become an icon in the UK R&B scene, which saw his hit Bestie’, which features Yxng Bane, become a platinum-selling single. He’s also been nominated for countless awards such as ‘Best Grime Act’ at the Urban Music Awards and Best Collaboration at the NME Awards.

He will be headlining the Freshers Ball at the O2 Academy on Monday 23 September.

Also performing on the night will be DJ Joel Corry, accompanied by pristine vocals from Hayley May.

Joel's track ‘Sorry’ quickly broke the charts with its appearance on ITV’s Love Island and it has event broke the UK record for the most Shazamed song in one day!

Joel and Hayley will be headlining, alongside Yungen at the Freshers Ball at the O2 Academy on Monday 23 September.

But that’s not all.

Our Freshers Welcome Party in the Campus Centre Function Rooms, will see Its Danny T taking over. Born and raised in Leeds, house and bass mashup DJ, Its Danny T will be bringing you the latest anthems to welcome you to DMU.

The Freshers Welcome Party takes place on Saturday 21 September in the Campus Centre Function rooms. 

Entrance to the Opening Party, Freshers Ball and a range of other nights out are included in your Freshers wristbands available here.
