Sacha is one of DSU's most committed volunteers, giving up her time in a number of ways and for a number of different causes. She is the Chair of DSU Dance and also volunteers as a coach for the society; Sacha also gets involved in with raising and giving on campus for various local organisations. We asked Sacha a few questions about her volunteering...
Why did you get involved in Volunteering at DSU?
I got involved as I really enjoy taking part in activities on campus, whilst also helping others to get involved with the activities. The most important thing is also ensuring that we have fun whilst doing it.
What is the best experience you have had whilst volunteering?
Best experience is so tough as I have got involved in so much, but organising and performing at the Rugby World Cup Fanzone in October 2015 has to be up there. This involved ensuring our performance before the Rugby World Cup games in front of hundreds of people was a success. Also organising our performance at half time of a Leicester Tiger's game was a great experience.
What would you say to anyone thinking about volunteering?
Just get involved, take part in as much as you can and of course, don't forget to log your hours!
