Our Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the charity delivers value for money for its members, is transparent in its operations, and supports effective decision making by budget holders, management and Charity trustees. They will be responsible for managing the day to day financial processes of the Students’ Union, ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. They will have a proactive approach to continuously seek ways to improve processes and service delivery as a support function to the Students’ Union. The Finance Manager will provide accurate and timely financial performance information to management and budget holders including monthly management accounts processed via Sage 200.
Duties will include processing of payroll using Sage Payroll. You will also be required to complete month end reconciliations and ensure adherence to internal controls and delegated financial authorities as well as accounting of complex VAT requirements. The post-holder will line manage the Finance Assistant and work closely with the Head of Finance, People & Central Services to deliver effective Finance operations in line with the organisations strategic plan.
We have a flexible approach and are open to applications from candidates that may require some variation to the contracted hours or hybrid arrangements (although this is not a fully remote role and a minimum of 30 hours/4 days per week is required).
