Hello , my name is Farzana Sonir , I come from Kuwait, and I am studying Bachelor of Law . I am running for the position of BAL Faculty Lead . and here is my manifesto !
I bring a proven track record of effective leadership beginning from my college life , where I served as the Head girl of Student Council for 2 years leading a team of 28 student captains , collaborated closely with school administration, expressed concerns and ideas in event planning, promoted student spirit, and successfully implemented beneficial influence on the school community of 2000+ students. With my ambition to become a barrister , I chose DMU to support me with my academics and create a pathway to my ultimate aim . at DMU , I am given the opportunity to be a Student Course Representative for LLB , be a Student leader for Decolonizing DMU where I am working with faculty to ensure that students have a positive university learning experience, as well as developing projects to provide feedback to staff, enable progress in teaching and learning, and to improve overall institutional processes and last but not least CHAIRPERSON OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL . As the student Chair , I ensure smooth and effective council meetings and serve as a liaison between students and the executive officers to bring in ideas , remarks , complains etc.
My vision as the BAL faculty lead - I aim bridge the gaps between our faculty and students , ensure more inclusive and innovative academic community and also make sure the diverse voices of our huge community is more heard , together we can create a learning environment that prepares students not just academically but also as conscientious global citizens .
