Hello!!, my name is Adeyemi Adedugbe and I am running for the position of Welfare Executive Officer at our prestigious university. With a deep understanding of the challenges we face as students, I am committed to making our university experience as rewarding and stress-free as possible.
My vision is to create a university environment where every student feels supported, understood, and valued. A place where mental health, physical well-being, and academic support are prioritized.
I desire to achieve an environment that ensures
- Mental Health and Well-being:
- Launching a peer support program to provide a welcoming space for students to share experiences.
- Organize workshops and seminars focusing on stress management, mindfulness, and coping strategies for challenges.
- Inclusivity and Diversity:
- Promote an inclusive campus culture that respects and celebrates diversity in all its forms, including race, gender, sexuality, and disability.
- Academic Support:
- Collaborate with academic departments to ensure that students have access to academic advising, tutoring, and resources tailored to their needs and a flexible assessment method ensuring fairness in the academic process.
- Accommodation:
- Ensure that students have access to standard accommodation at affordable rate.
- Create opportunity for students to secure payment plans for accommodations.
- Community and Engagement:
- Foster a strong sense of community among students through events and forums that encourage participation and dialogue.
- Establish a feedback loop with the student body.
To achieve these objectives, I will work tirelessly with university staff, student organizations, and external partners. I will ensure that student welfare is at the forefront of university decision-making, advocating for policies and initiatives that reflect our needs and voices.
