My name is Manav Madlani, and I am currently in my first year studying for a BSc Hons in Psychology. As an enthusiastic and self-motivated undergraduate psychology student, I am putting myself forward as a candidate for the HLS - Faculty Lead Representative position. I am passionate about promoting and contributing to making valuable changes where required. With this role, I aim to enhance students’ experience of the Health and Life Sciences Faculty and positively impact the HLS students and their education here at De Montfort University. Moreover, with my previous experiences of working as a Pharmacy assistant trainee volunteer and a Sales assistant volunteer, as well as my current experiences of being one of the Year 1 Psychology Course Representatives, a Student Representative for Health and Life Sciences on the Education Committee and a Scrutiny panellist, I feel confident that I have the necessary skills and abilities to excel at this position and contribute to its success, and that I can further advance during my time at fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of this role. My experiences have helped me to enhance my communication and interpersonal skills whilst developing other practical skills in various aspects of the roles undertaken, which included independence, leadership, cash management abilities, and excellent customer service.
