Paige Billings

Hello, my name is Paige Billings – I am studying Entrepreneurship and Innovation 1st year.

Currently, I am involved in the student union through:

  • Being course representative
  • Being one of six scrutiny panellists – here I focus on helping officers from the DSU improve, which I would like to use within myself next year.

As a woman do you feel confident walking through campus? I believe women need to feel safe and included within your study spaces, so bring any concerns to me, which I can take further for you.

Mostly, I see bands and performers mainly being male and I believe that any form of creativity and the arts are what could encourage you women to feel more confident.

I want to encourage students from across the university to come together in artful ways and display their talents, such as by holding showcases and open mics in the student union.

Being endorsed by music society, I would like to include music and more of dance showcases here. Through these, I would aim to bring more awareness to the mandala project and safety & security services on campus.

I am involved in changes across the university through my student union roles already and would love to be the woman that pushes the message of equality further.

Vote for me as your women’s liberation officer and I will ensure your voices are heard, through events that I will hold to display your skills and talents.

Please contact me at P2785629@my365.dmu.ac.uk if you have any questions on this.
