Hello Everyone!
My name is Gur Preet, and I have moved from Italy four years ago. In the beginning I had to face challenges regarding the new language. However, my hard work has allowed me to complete GCSEs and the Level 3 course In Science to get into De Montfort University.
As well as this, last year during the studies in medical science I have managed to volunteer as a ward supporter and in the Emergency Department at the Leicester Royal infirmary. My role was involved in helping and assisting patients, refer any concern to the medical professionals and doing tasks independently such as completing food charts for diabetic patients.
Volunteering during these month, has allowed me to gain confidence and learned how to deal with difficult situations and solve problems in the moment. I have enjoyed this experience and I would like to continue volunteering. Due to my empathetic personality, I do enjoy being able to assist others in need with my abilities.
Therefore, I am nominating myself as Medical Science representative for you!
I will what I can to make sure to provide any support that you need during this academic year and forward your concern to the teaching staff.
