My Manifesto

Hi everyone! Despite appearances I’m a 27-year-old mature student. The education studies course was an easy choice for me as I found my passion coaching both adults and children while working as a snowboard instructor. My personal goal is to develop those skills further and hopefully find a way to use them make some real positive changes in people’s lives. While I worked abroad, I was blessed to work with teams of people from all over the globe. I absolutely adore hearing stories of other cultures and just how different life can be when you are born on the other side of the planet.

Our course, the DMU campus and Leicester in general is a diverse place and I would be honoured to do my bit in ensuring everyone’s voices are heard. With COVID and the confusion of last year it’s even more important that for our remaining time as students and for those that come after us that we do everything in our power to make the education studies course amazing.

On a personal level I always endeavour to be approachable and inclusive in my interactions, while I love to joke around and make people laugh, I know how to be serious when the situation calls for it. I occasionally find myself struck by social anxiety but am always finding new ways to cope. For me the role of course rep is an opportunity to test myself, gain some confidence as well as having an excuse to interact with people I might otherwise would not get the opportunity to.
