Candidate for the position of Year 4 Representative:Law LLB - Rep

Kieran Sale

Hey everyone, my name is Kieran Sale and I am applying for the ‘Year 4 Representative: Law LLB – Rep’ position. I am currently on a yearlong industrial placement at The Walt Disney Company in London. Upon completion of my placement, I will be returning to De Montfort University to complete my LLB Law Degree. As an undergraduate going into my fourth year of my Law degree, I have remained consistent in achieving a first-class mark across the last 3 years of my studies. This demonstrates that I am a very hard-working individual who is able to manage their time very well, because at the same time, during my first and second year, I had a part-time job at McDonalds as well as making time to complete my A1 German course. In terms of societies, I have been an active member of DMU Swimming and Triathlon team for the last 3 years, where before placement, I would train four times a week and then go out with the team on Wednesday evenings. I like to attend numerous charity events throughout the year, some examples being the Memory Walk for the Alzheimer’s Society, where myself and a number of my team mates from DMU Swim and Tri raised £413 and also the annual 24 hour triathlon we organise, where we raise money for a charity called Loros, which is a charitable organisation who help support terminally ill adults, their families and careers. When I am at home (which is Birmingham - I do not have the accent I promise) I often volunteer as a Football Coach in my spare time to help young children build and develop on the basic skills necessary to play competitive football.

I am applying to become a Level 4 Course Representative because I believe that I am a very approachable and likeable character who likes and is very good a listening to others and providing advice. I enjoy engaging with other students and meeting new people with similar interests to myself, so applying to become a course rep will provide me with this opportunity. If successful, I promise to be your voice and to make sure any issues raised are heard and then consequently, they are actioned. I want to provide a closer link between course reps and you guys which was not transparent within my first and second year of studies.

Thank-you.
