ABOUT MYSELF:
Hey guys! I’m Yusra and I’m a first year Economics student from Pakistan who just wants to sprinkle that positive garam masala seasoning onto both females and males, empowering them into becoming the baddest and bossest versions of themselves. Having been a charity and academic house captain, form captain, school ambassador for many years, as well as working at Marks and Spencer, I’m a hard worker who is compassionate, good at teamwork, communicating, and listening to the opinions of others.
WHAT I AIM TO GIVE YOU ALL:
Confidence- GURLLLLLLLL whether its body confidence or just self confidence, I got you babe. I will help women become the best versions of themselves and learn to not care about what the haters say as your haters give you strength. I aim to capture photos and videos showing the natural and organic beauty of women by tagging us on instagram to be reposted weekly.
Inclusion- I want all the women of DMU to come together and build a sisterhood where no one is alone and is part of a big family. All races, religions, ethnicities, genders and people with any sexual orientations are welcome! Come join the family!
Advice/Mental health support- from breakups, baby daddy drama, family issues, toxic friendships and roomates, insecurities,depression, anxiety- you name it sis, I’m here for you. I want to produce girl talk videos and podcasts as well as hear the opinions of people at DMU. Even if you just want someone to just talk to, count me as your friend. I aim to spread the word about the Mandala Project.
Men- I also want to create a platform where men as well as women can come together and express their emotions instead of following the stigma of being an alpha male and infact actually being human. Men are not trash. Fake feminism is cancelleddddddddd.
Gender Equality- its 2020. I want to fight for the equality of the sexes and together we will diminish the gender pay gap and all secure the bag.
Support- Let's raise money for women charities as well as help provide free tampons, support breast cancer patients, sexual and domestic assault vicitms and single parents.
Awareness- There are alot of survivors out there who have stories to tell. Together we will bring awairness towards sexual assault, forced marriages, 'rules' for women's clothing, abortion and many other issues.
Events- I want to hold more events and bring in guest speakers including women and men. Example events include Spill the Tea, Bad B werkkkkkshops, Glow Up Seshessssssssss
