Holly Percival

Holly started a career 18 months ago in public services; this involves a good understanding of policy and procedure, conflict management and problem solving. Holly left DMU in 2013 after graduating with a 2:1 in Psychology BSc (Hons). Throughout university Holly took part in in the Hockey Team as a player and a coach and also did Jiu Jitsu. She worked as a lifeguard at the QEII Leisure centre and was a Course Rep and Faculty Rep for all 3 years she attended university, winning Faculty Rep of the year in her final year. She then went on to get a distinction in Investigative Psychology MSc at the University of Huddersfield.

Holly has experienced university life from different perspectives having completed a 3 year full time course and a 1 year course that was mainly e-learning. She feels that having been an active member of DSU during her time at DMU will help in her new role as an Alumni Trustee on the DSU board. She would like to encourage students to use the services of DSU as she knows first how the support, enjoyment and chance to learn new skills has benefited her current career and life after university.

Outside of this role and her career, Holly is still a keen hockey player, playing hockey at a high level for Olton Hockey Club based in the West Midlands. Over the years she has also travelled to many countries, including Australia, Brazil, South Africa and America. During a university summer holiday she worked at a camp in New Jersey, USA and describes this as one of the best summers of her life.
