  • As a Liberation Officer, you are a student volunteer democratically elected by the student body to represent and amplify the voices of underrepresented communities at De Montfort University (DMU).

In this role, you’ll work closely with students who identify within your liberation remit, fellow Liberation Officers, and the Student Voice Leader for Inclusion & Wellbeing. Your goal is to ensure that student voices are heard, valued, and embedded into university and Students’ Union decision-making, especially where those decisions affect equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Being a Liberation Officer will strengthen your confidence, empathy, resilience, and ability to problem-solve. You'll develop as a leader while campaigning, lobbying, and influencing change at DMU and Nationally
