  • Student Council Chair or Deputy Chair

    We are looking for our next Student Council Chair who will be the main facilitator of the biggest Student Representative forum! - DSU Student Council.

    Could you be the next Student Council Chair or Deputy Chair?

    This exciting leadership role will consist of facilitating the four Student Council events of the year! You will be creating the agenda, facilitating student voice, and contribute in voting to enhance the student experience.

    Being a chair brings opportunity to enhance your skills and make change.

    You will also act as a NUS representative, the voice that represents DSU for nation wide change across universities in England.  This role includes taking part in  NUS elections, familiraising and reviewing policies which will contribute to the direction of NUS. You will also attend a 2 day conference, where you will engage in discussions and debates.

  • Scrutiny Panel Member

    Ever thought about holding your Executive Officers (Full-time paid students) and Liberation Officers (Part-time, Volunteer Students) accountable? Do you want to ensure your Officers are prioritising your Student Experience and what you elected them to do? Well now you can!

    We are looking for 6 panelist’s to be apart of Scrutiny Panel.

    As a member of the Scrutiny Committee Panel, you will be  holding  your Student Officers to account - Makinging sure they are doing what they said they would!

    You will be responsible for holding constructive discussions with the panel and officers to ensure they are prioritising their members with a clear focus on what improvements are needed. 

    You will also act as a NUS representative, the voice that repsents DSU for nation wide change across universities in England.  This role includes taking part in  NUS elections, familiraising and reviewing  policies which will contribute to the direction of NUS, while also attending a 2 day conference.

    What is scrutiny panel?
    Scrutiny panel is a crucial meeting  which happens 4 times a year, where the scrutiny panellists questions the executive and Liberation officers progress towards their manifestio aims. (What they were elected in to do!).

  • Faculty Lead Representative

    You will lead on representing the students of your Faculty and act as a positive change agent to ensure students academic interests are at the heart of university provision.

    Faculty Lead reps aim to enhance the student's experience of their individual faculty and beyond. Working with Course Reps, they are elected to listen, give feedback and seek input from the student voice within their faculty for university committees, meetings and campaigns.
