Liberation Officers
Who are they and what do they do?
A Liberation Officer, is a Student Volunteer democratically elected by the student body to represent and channel underrepresented voices at the university.
They work closely with self-identifying students, other Liberation Officers, and the Equality and Diversity Executive to ensure the students they represent have their voices heard within the Students’ Union and University functioning's.
They aim to enhance the student experience with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion and are elected to listen, feedback, campaign, lobby and lead on input from the underrepresented communities at DMU.
They will be responsible for attending Student Council, Scrutiny Panel, Liberation Officer Catch ups, Student Experience Action Group and University Project meetings, to discuss, input and raise feedback from your Liberation Community.
