Welcome to the Midwifery Society!
We are a society for student midwives. Becoming a member will give you the opportunity to meet other student midwives on our social nights out, as well as furthering your midwifery knowledge through outside speakers. If you want to join you can sign up online or bring along your membership fee of £5 to a meeting.
Our first meeting as a new society is being held on Wednesday 19th October at 1.00pm in Edith Murphy 0.28 where we will host afternoon tea and hope to recruit new members. We are in the process of arranging speakers for this year and more information will be available shortly.
You can find us on facebook and on instagram - @dmumidwiferysociety
Looking forward to seeing you all!
If you have any ideas for speakers/activities please inform us and we will see if we can arrange it

Microbirth Film Screening Jan 2015
We held a film screening of the documentary film 'Microbirth' looking at the latest scientific research about the microscopic events happening during childbirth. These events could have life-long consequences for the health of our children and potentially could even impact mankind. Lecturers, society members, guests and midwives all attended and it was great to see so many faces. The film was incredibly interesting and challenging as we think about how we care for the women we come into contact with. We're looking forward to our next event, a hypnobirthing workshop, in February. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Christmas Dec 2014!

A fab evening and we even had a chat and got excited about our Christmas social! Looking forward to seeing you there!
