Turkish Society

Hi there, we're a brand new society which recently got approved in February. We will be launching as soon as the committee have completed their training.

We are starting this society in response to the devastating earthquake that has occured in the east and south of Turkey which has affected the lives of DMU students' families.

As a society we will do...

• Charity work; so that students can feel at mental ease with the thought of having done at least a fundraiser for their community or even other communities that require support.
• Weekly social gatherings
• A support and unity spot for turkish students; many first year students and even second year students are unaware of most university facilities and supports available, whether this be for study purposes, social or travel. Having an official society will enable us students that have long been here at the university to guide those whom feel hesitate to approach others. This comfort of having multi language speakers within a society will help these students step out of their shells and enable us to guide them in their studies. 
• Information spot; we aim to create a group on social media to send out weekly announcements, that the university sends through to us and some information that may be obvious to local and fluent english speaking students but not so obvious to international students. 

Annual Membership: £5

Our annual membership fee supports the funding of our events and activities throughout the year. Membership can be bought at any point in the year, and all memberships will expire at the end of the 2022/23 academic year.
