After a record-breaking year for De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)’s Student Voice team, the achievements of students throughout the year will be recognised at a very special awards night.

The SULETS Student Voice Awards 2016, taking place on Friday 22 April at The Grand Mercure Hotel, will celebrate the hard work of students that have brought about impact and positive change on university life in the past academic year.

Elgan Hughes, Student Voice Manager at DSU, said: “The SULETS Student Voice Awards 2016 will be a night to recognise the fantastic work that students have been doing throughout the academic year.

“That’s from students who have been course representatives, school rep coordinators, through to people who participate in councils, students who have chaired those meetings, who have been on scrutiny panels, anything to do with us that has allowed us to make change on campus.

“It’s also to recognise the votes that were made in the elections, as those kinds of things are some of the biggest things the students’ union does.

“With Student Voice we represent students’ views, opinions and hopefully get positive change on campus, and so this night is to celebrate where we’ve managed to get lots of ‘wins’ [positive changes at course level], improved numbers engaging in councils and elections and raise issues in the university.”

Awards being presented include the Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Student Award, Course Rep of the Year Award, SRC of the Year Award and the Unsung Hero award.

Tickets are just £15, and include a three-course meal, arrival drinks and evening entertainment. You are also welcome to invite guests who are not DSU members.
