De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) invites you to what promises to be one of the biggest nights of the year.
The SULETS Colours Awards 2016 is your chance to celebrate the success of all of our sports teams and individual athletes throughout the year, with this year’s Las Vegas-themed event taking place at the Athena on Friday 13 May.
And, with many of those concerned achieving great success this year, the evening promises to be one to remember.
Dan Winney, VP Student Activities at DSU, said: “We’ve had a great year this year, probably the most successful year that we’ve ever had, and so it’s a great opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate that success.
“We’ve had a lot of league wins and a lot of really good Varsity wins as well and it’s good that DSU can give something back.
“This year we are going to make it a bit more interactive so rather than just having the awards we are going to have a lot more going on, more input from the students and really celebrate their own year and their highlights and good stories.”
There are 11 awards in total on offer, ranging from Best Newcomer to Club of the Year, but Dan said that it was a great year for all athletes regardless of whether they walk away with a prize or not.
He said: “It’s already a massive well done to all of the teams this year. They’ve all put in so much effort and that kind of determination has shone through in all of the club wins.”
On the evening there will be roulette and blackjack tables, live entertainment and photo booths, while tickets – priced at £10 – also gain you entry to the official after party at XY.
