The only lettings agency recommended by De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) has been awarded a national quality mark.

Student accommodation and lettings charity Sulets – part owned by DSU and University of Leicester Students’ Union – have been awarded the National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) Quality Mark for International Accommodation.

The NSHS is an annual survey of students in higher education across the UK and measures satisfaction levels in all types of accommodation while allowing participating institutions to measure their performance against national and regional benchmarks. The 2016 survey attracted more than 33,000 responses from more than 200 universities and colleges across the UK.

The kite mark is awarded to a select group of institutions and private hall providers who achieve greater than 90% satisfaction amongst international students.

Sulets CEO Irving Hill said: “We are extremely happy to be recognised for the quality of the accommodation we offer across Leicester, with excellent on-site management led by Richard Simpson and first-class customer service from the Sulets team.

“We really do provide a great experience. Undoubtedly this is positive for our universities, students’ unions, landlords and most importantly the students.”

The project is managed by Red Brick Research, an independent market research agency specialising in student and youth markets, and in higher education.

Sulets offers a wide selection of high-quality student accommodation close to De Montfort University (DMU) and University of Leicester campuses ranging from studios and one bedroom flats up to large eight-bed properties for groups.

Unlike other agencies, they charge no fees to students renting Sulets’ properties and there are no deposits on halls of residence bookings.
