A happy Diwali from everybody at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU)!

Remember to follow government guidance, look after each other and stay safe. Things are a bit different this year but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the festival of new beginnings with any less enthusiasm!

All are invited to join the Diwali celebrations across the Leicestershire community. There’s a range of online events and activities for you to get involved in and we would absolutely love to see how you are celebrating, so make sure to tag us in any of your social media posts.

Don't know much about Diwali? We asked our Hindu Society to film an introduction to Diwali. Watch now:

Get involved with the Leicester Celebrations

Leicester City Council has had to cancel all physical events and have replaced them with a 1 hour-long virtual event, taking place on the Visit Leicester website from 7pm on Saturday 14 November 2020. If you’re new to Leicester, this is a great chance to find out what you’ve been missing! They’ll be showcasing videos from previous year’s celebrations alongside a selection of recorded messages.

You can find out more about Leicester City Council’s Diwali celebrations here.
