Our DSU Food pantry officially launched on the 2nd December 2025.

If you are low on budget or need to replenish a few essential food items – we have you covered.

An initiative put forward by our previous student executives has now been developed and delivered by the DSU Advice team. The food pantry is here to gently ease some of the cost of living stressors.

The types of items we’ll be stocking to start with will include staple foods such as pasta, rice, cereals and soups (to keep you warm this winter) personal care products, baby care items, and cereal bars - for a mid-week energy boost.

Whilst there's no limit to how often you can visit the pantry, we’ll be giving you a token card to stamp 3 visits. This means if you need any extra support or advice, we can signpost you in the right direction, if it helps.

We also have plans to create mini recipe cards – with basic recipes to put your food items together... watch this space!

Choose up to ten items per visit – it’s free and open to all DMU students.

Located on the DSU ground floor and open 10am-3:30pm, Monday - Friday. Pop by the DSU hub and ask for the Advice team, who will show you where to go, to get stocked up.

Remember to bring your own bags for sustainable shopping.

If you need to come in out of term time, you can email dsuadvice@dmu.ac.uk to book an appointment.

See you there 😊
