Twenty of our DSU sports team were in BUCS competition this past week, and what a week it was!
Eleven wins and four draws were gleaned from those fixtures, ensuring that we enjoyed our most successful week for the season so far.
And, rather fittingly on #ThisGirlCan week, all our women’s teams either picked up a win or a draw.
As a club, women’s netball enjoyed an impressive week, with home victories for the second and third teams, as they eased to 39-19 and 38-16 against Bishop Grosseteste’s firsts and Anglia Ruskin’s thirds respectively.
Their first-team counterparts also picked up a home win against Oxford Brookes’ second-team, though with a much tighter margin, 37-35.
Elsewhere, women’s football’s firsts romped to a 4-0 win on home turf against Nottingham Trent’s seconds.
Staying with football, men’s seconds defeated University College Birmingham’s 2nd 2-0, while the fourths came away with a 2-0 victory at University of Northampton’s thirds.
Women’s volleyball first-team also won away from home, beating University of Lincoln’s firsts 3-0, as did men’s tennis’ first, who crushed University of Northampton’s firsts 5-1 on their home patch.
