At De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) we have been busy prepping for the biggest week of the whole year, Freshers 2019. We have loads of events to get you settled into your new life here at De Montfort University (DMU) and we hope that you'll join us in what is set to be an unforgettable experience.
We know some of you keen beans may have already grabbed your Freshers wristband, but for those who haven’t here are a few good reasons you should do:
1. Freshers wristbands are your pass to the best week of the year!
At DSU we have a jam-packed events list that will ensure you get settled quickly into university life. For coffee lovers, we have our brand-new coffee-crawl and for those who prefer their coffee martini-style, we have the infamous Bar Tour, where we take over 3000 students on a tour of Leicester’s bars and clubs. We’ll be uploading the full events-guide soon, so keep your eyes peeled – it’s a biggie!
2. It’s loads easier than remembering your tickets!
Keys? Check. Wallet? Yes. Phone? Yeah. Tickets for the event? Uh-oh.
We’ve all been there, you’ve done the checks before you’ve left, turned up to the club and oh… you’ve forgotten your ticket. Now, if you had a wristband there would be no worrying. It’s on your wrist. Hurrah!
3. We have two different packages for you to choose from!
Both our packages will get you into all of our Fresher events, bar the day trips to Harry Potter Studios and Alton Towers, as they’re ticketed events (details coming soon). So, should you want to do absolutely everything for 9 days, you sure can! Although, you may need to do some tactical napping!
Standard wristband: includes ALL Freshers events*
VIP wristband: includes ALL Freshers events* PLUS, a DMU t-shirt and hoody, entry to Injunction all year and a £5 SU's Diner voucher.
*excludes day trips to Alton Towers and Harry Potter studios.
4. You can keep it as a memento!
If you’re anything like us, we love a little keepsake. Pin it up on your brand-new noticeboard in your halls to remind you of an awesome week. Or don’t, that’s totally up to you. If this hasn't convinced you, then we don't know what will.
