*UPDATE: Since this story, #TeamDMU's men's cricketers won their league too! That means 2015/16 was our most successful BUCS season EVER. Not bad, eh?*

This year has been the biggest ever for sport at De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU). We’ve had more of you getting involved in both competitive and informal sport than ever before...but the bread and butter of a #TeamDMU club is British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competition.

And this year we’ve had a total of FIVE league winners! We’ve spoken to all five victorious teams, and you can find links to our winners’ profiles below.

One title wasn’t enough for our badminton club...both men’s firsts and seconds won their BUCS leagues! Read more here.

Our women’s footballers have just had their most successful year yet and have more members than ever. Not only did the first team win their Varsity match after a tense penalty shootout, but they conquered their BUCS league too. See how they’re savouring their success here.

Talking about savouring success, there’s nothing like winning the league on the final day of the season! Netball thirds left it late to take their BUCS title on points difference. Get the full story here.

And last but by no means least, who could forget our men’s footballers? Hear about how Leicester City legend Matt Elliott helped De Montfort FC’s firsts take their BUCS title here.
