Looking for your next European getaway? Join De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) on our upcoming DMU Global trip to Amsterdam.

The trip will be led by our Union Development Executive, Kate and provide an opportunity for students to learn about how they can become more sustainable and immerse themselves in the culture that Amsterdam offers.

Kate said: "I can’t wait to take students to Amsterdam in the new year. Amsterdam has so much more to offer than what students perhaps initially assume and I’m so excited to show how progressive, and culturally and historically rich Amsterdam is.

"Sustainability and activism can seem quite intimidating to people who aren’t sure where to start and how they as one person, can make a difference. I want to really show students the impact their voice can have and how they can drive change for causes they are passionate about."

The trip will take place Monday 24 February to Thursday 27 February and will involve an array of cultural activities, including the opportunity to explore A’DAM Lookout and visit the Amsterdam Royal Palace.

Kate continued: "'The Greta Effect'” means that more people are opting for flightless travel and so I’m hoping to show students how accessible this really is.

"I welcome all students regardless of year, course or prior knowledge to apply as I want to show that together, with everyone simply doing their best where-ever they can, we can make the change we want to see in the world."

"Students will also have the chance to visit one of De Montfort University (DMU)’s Erasmus partner, InHolland University. Here you will spend the day learning about their sustainability initiatives including a tour of their ‘Clean-tech playground’, which is noted as one of the seven wonders of non-touristy Amsterdam-Noord.

Alongside these exciting excursions, students will have plenty of downtime to explore everything that Amsterdam has to offer. You can tailor your trip to your personal interests, by choosing between two optional cultural experiences, a visit to the Ann Frank House or the Moco Museum of Modern and Contemporary Street Art.

To apply for this trip head to this page and fill out the application by Monday 21 October at 9am.
