A snap General Election is coming on Thursday 12 December that will massively impact your future.

Currently the political situation in the UK is uncertain and unpredictable so make sure you voice is heard by registering to vote today.

Registering to vote only takes five minutes. If you’re not registered, you can’t vote, so head to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and register by 26 November to have your say.

QUICK TIP: If you’re already registered at your home address, don’t worry, you can also register at your term-time address. All students are entitled to register at home and at your term-time address but you can only legally vote at one during a General Election.

KEY DEADLINE DATES:

  • 26 November - Deadline to register to vote
  • 26 November – Deadline to apply for a postal vote
  • 4 December – Deadline to apply for a proxy vote

It’s your voice, don’t lose it, register to vote today – you just need a few details, including your National Insurance Number.

If you registered/re-registered as a DMU student using the ‘Register Here’ tile on MyDMU you may have already registered to vote. However, make sure to follow the process outlined here to update your information, preferences and check that you have registered to vote.
