DSU have been awarded the maximum grant by the Inter Faith Youth Trust who promote and enable inter faith work as well as understanding within young people in the UK, and helps fund similar projects. The Inter Faith Association (a DSU Society) aims for students of all faiths and none to share their experiences and deepen understanding of faith through organising trips to multi-faith centres, faith trails around the city and other inter faith events throughout the year.

Inter Faith week at DMU is nearly here and we’ve got loads planned at your SU to share and celebrate together.  The Inter-Faith Association, Societies Office and DMU Chaplaincy will all be involved in these events aimed at bringing people together whether they have a faith or no faith.

The first event of the campaign is on Friday 13th November.  You can help us raise loads of money for BBC Children in Need but collecting across campus. We are looking for those involved in our Faith & Belief Societies to volunteer and raise money for a common cause.

Inter Faith week itself then kicks off on Monday 16th November, launching with an inter-faith cafe hosted by the Inter-Faith Association (a society at DSU).  Come along to the Lounge (first floor, Campus Centre) 11am-2pm for free refreshments, good company and good fun!

Tuesday 17th November is our Faith Crawl around campus and Leicester city centre.  What better way to learn about other faiths than to visit their places of worship than visiting them for yourself?

We’re off to Derby Students’ Union on Wednesday 18th November to find out how they work with their societies and local multi-faith centre. If you’re on a committee of one of our Faith & Belief societies you are invited!

We’re looking for 5-a-side teams to take part in our Inter Faith tournament on Thursday 19th November.  Coordinated by Campus330 you and your mates can battle it out to win the ultimate prize of the Inter Faith Cup 2015! Email us now to register you team.

The week concludes in style on Friday 20th November.  As a thank you to those taking part during the week we’re putting on a film screening for you.  Totally free of charge, come along to watch The Life of Pi, help yourself to some free food and celebrate together on the success of Inter Faith Week 2015.
